Nick Unwin Jazz Trio with Laura Zakian

Saturday 20th March at 7.30pm. The bar opens at 6.30pm.

Awarding-winning pianist Nick Unwin graduated from the Royal College of Music in 1985. He had a successful career as a classical recitalist and soloist with the top UK orchestras and has left a legacy of 5 CD's which are still commercially available. He lived in Japan from 1999 until 2004 taking an extended hiatus from music and immersing himself in Japanese culture. On returning to the UK his musical activities were reactivated by his interest in jazz and he now promotes and performs in concerts with his trio and usually a guest singer. Laura Zakian Completed her degree at Middlesex University and studied in New York with Nancy Marano from the Manhattan School of Music, Laura launched her career in Italy, performing with leading jazz musicians in Rome and appearing at the Umbria Jazz Festival. Laura started her recording career in 2000 with the release of 'Nobody Else But Me'. JAZZ REVIEW said, "Miss Zakian debuts with a clear conception of how to phrase a lyric with subtle swing and rhythmic elasticity".
