Release your tension of the day with gentle stretching and breathing exercises. Then allow yourself to deeply relax while you are transported to quintessential English country gardens, tropical beaches, and Japanese zen gardens (to mention but a few) though guided meditations. 

Follow this by immersing yourself in the soothing and resonant frequencies of a quartz singing bowl session. Sound baths can recalibrate your nervous system, reduce stress, soothe anxiety and ease physical tension. They can also help improve mental clarity and sleep quality.

Bill Sergant and Dawn Nowell Pargetting Workshop - £200pp - SOLD OUT

Following a series of sold-out Pargetting courses and the highly successful HERITAGE: Pargetting, Fresco, Sgraffito & Stucco Exhibition in June 2026, Bill and Dawn are delighted to return to Wingfield Barns for another inspiring day of traditional craft.

Pargetting is the historic art of decorative lime plasterwork, used for centuries to embellish buildings with beautiful patterns and motifs. This hands-on workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn traditional techniques from experienced heritage artists in a friendly and supportive environment.

Whether you are an artist, maker, craft enthusiast, or simply curious about historic building traditions, this course will introduce you to the materials, methods, and creative possibilities of this remarkable heritage skill. During the day, you will design and create your own decorative plaster panel to take home.

Musical Bridges is an intergenerational arts initiative designed to bring people together through the power of music and creativity. The project is envisioned and produced by Orchestras Live and will involve Britten Sinfonia, the professional orchestra based in the Eastern Region.

The project uses live orchestral music in initial concerts by a Britten Sinfonia Quartet, as an inspiration and starting point for groups within the community to make new music and song. Adults, including those retired, young people and children will be invited to listen, respond, re-imagine and interpret the music, in ways that feel inclusive and inspiring (Stage 1).

Through consultation with communities, pertinent themes will be chosen and a programme that reflects their needs and aspirations co-designed. Facilitated sharing of the developing ideas between groups will enrich their sense of collaboration and connection prior to a shared celebration event (Stage 2).

The new music will be featured as part of a celebration concert at Wingfield Barns, accompanied by a Britten Sinfonia Octet (Stage 3).

​After a successful monster puppet making workshop in the summer holiday's we are pleased to announce another workshop! On the 29th and 30th of October, join us for a two-day puppet-making adventure, running from 10am–3pm each day!

Perfect for curious beginners, little monster-makers and big kids alike, you’ll dream up, design, build and bring to life your very own character — perhaps a sleepy monster, a mischievous alien, Bigfoot, Mothman or some wonderfully weird creature that has crawled out of your imagination.

​With a professional puppet maker Freya Oakes on hand throughout the workshop, you’ll learn the tricks of the craft and turn a handful of materials and a sprinkle of imagination into a character with a personality all of its own. So bring your creativity, your curiosity and your best monster-making ideas to the puppet making Mad scientist laboratories, and let’s make something delightful together

Saturday 7th November 10-1pm – Painted Purse Workshop

Immerse yourself in a relaxing 3-hour workshop with renowned leather artisan Rosanna Clare, creating your own hand-painted leather purse. Learn simple leather-painting techniques, practise on a small cable tidy, then decorate and assemble your pre-cut vegetable-tanned leather purse.

Personalise it with your name or initials for a unique finishing touch. Based in Wivenhoe, Essex, Rosanna has been designing, making and teaching leatherwork since 2015. She is the author of Sew Luxe Leather and has appeared on BBC’s Money for Nothing.

I am a collage artist working with hand-painted paper, carefully cut and layered—often using hundreds of individual pieces—to create bold, graphic images. My work is primarily landscape-based, inspired by detailed drawings of the Suffolk countryside, my cottage and garden, and places I have visited in the UK and abroad.

Trained in Fine Art at Kingston School of Art, I have worked as an artist all my life. I have exhibited widely, including at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, where I received a Special Award for Work with Paper. My work is held in the Bridgeman Art Library and has been published internationally.

Since 1990 I have lived and worked in Suffolk, where I continue to create collages, take commissions, exhibit regularly, and run collage workshops.

Saturday 30th January 10 - 4pm - Yoga Day Retreat with Hazel 

A day to feel inspired and uplifted. 

I am Hazel, a qualified Yoga Teacher living in Bungay. I teach Vinyasa Yoga Flow and love to explore how movement of yoga can build strength and mobility and how the power of breath can calm the mind. 

Yoga will take place in in a spacious studio with underfloor heating. Lunch will be served in the barn, with the mezzanine available for quite relaxation. Set in stunning country side there will be time to explore a short walk around the area.
