Follow this by immersing yourself in the soothing and resonant frequencies of a quartz singing bowl session. Sound baths can recalibrate your nervous system, reduce stress, soothe anxiety and ease physical tension. They can also help improve mental clarity and sleep quality.

Freya Oakes - She is a Norfolk-based stop motion artist and puppet maker whose work transforms the ordinary into the odd and the mundane into the magical. Inspired by culture, mythology, and traditional craft, she creates imaginative characters and stories through stop motion animation and handcrafted puppetry.

The Viking Puppet Forge -socks  of Norse Mythology
Ages 8-11, Workshop - £40pp

Step into a world of Viking myths, magical creatures, fearless heroes, and legendary adventures in this beginner-friendly, two-day sock puppet-making workshop. Welcome to The Puppet Making Forge, where young makers will create their very own sock puppets using recycled materials, inspired by Nordic myths and legends. From mischievous monsters to brave Viking warriors and powerful gods, participants will design unique characters and bring them to life through storytelling and performance. Guided by Forge Master and puppet maker expert Freya Oakes, each child will shape their own mythical creation and take part in building a shared saga of adventure and creativity.

Viking Myths in Motion: Claymation sage

Step into the world of Viking myth and ancient storytelling in this beginner-friendly stop motion and claymation workshop. Across two days, participants will gather as a creative clan to forge their own Viking-inspired animated tale. From the mists of Midgard to the halls of Valhalla, they will learn the craft of stop motion animation developing skills in storyboarding, character design, prop building, and frame-by-frame animation to bring their legends to life.

​Working together, they will shape gods, heroes, and mythical creatures into a short animated film, discovering a powerful new creative craft along the way. Guided by professional stop motion animator Freya Oakes, this workshop offers a hands-on journey into storytelling, imagination, and the magic of making moving images where every frame becomes part of a saga.

I am a collage artist working with hand-painted paper, carefully cut and layered—often using hundreds of individual pieces—to create bold, graphic images. My work is primarily landscape-based, inspired by detailed drawings of the Suffolk countryside, my cottage and garden, and places I have visited in the UK and abroad.

Trained in Fine Art at Kingston School of Art, I have worked as an artist all my life. I have exhibited widely, including at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, where I received a Special Award for Work with Paper. My work is held in the Bridgeman Art Library and has been published internationally.

Since 1990 I have lived and worked in Suffolk, where I continue to create collages, take commissions, exhibit regularly, and run collage workshops.

Bill Sergant and Dawn Nowell Pargetting Workshop - £200pp - SOLD OUT

Following a series of sold-out Pargetting courses and the highly successful HERITAGE: Pargetting, Fresco, Sgraffito & Stucco Exhibition in June 2026, Bill and Dawn are delighted to return to Wingfield Barns for another inspiring day of traditional craft.

Pargetting is the historic art of decorative lime plasterwork, used for centuries to embellish buildings with beautiful patterns and motifs. This hands-on workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn traditional techniques from experienced heritage artists in a friendly and supportive environment.

Whether you are an artist, maker, craft enthusiast, or simply curious about historic building traditions, this course will introduce you to the materials, methods, and creative possibilities of this remarkable heritage skill. During the day, you will design and create your own decorative plaster panel to take home.

Musical Bridges is an intergenerational arts initiative designed to bring people together through the power of music and creativity. The project is envisioned and produced by Orchestras Live and will involve Britten Sinfonia, the professional orchestra based in the Eastern Region.

The project uses live orchestral music in initial concerts by a Britten Sinfonia Quartet, as an inspiration and starting point for groups within the community to make new music and song. Adults, including those retired, young people and children will be invited to listen, respond, re-imagine and interpret the music, in ways that feel inclusive and inspiring (Stage 1).

Through consultation with communities, pertinent themes will be chosen and a programme that reflects their needs and aspirations co-designed. Facilitated sharing of the developing ideas between groups will enrich their sense of collaboration and connection prior to a shared celebration event (Stage 2).

The new music will be featured as part of a culmination concert at Wingfield Barns, accompanied by a Britten Sinfonia Octet (Stage 3).
